The VIFIS (Variable Interference Filter Imaging Spectrometer) Instrument was flown on BAI Aerosystems Inc. TERN UAV in April of 2002.

Six flights with different configurations were included in the Test Program conducted at NASA GSFC Wallops Flight Facility.

The test program offered an opportunity to demonstrate the feasibility of using an Uninhabited Aerial Vehicle, a Hyperspectral imaging instrument, and a portable data link system to retrieve Earth resources data.
